In the following we want to give a short brief on (suspected) actions carried out by the People´s Liberation Guerilla Army (PLGA) led by the Communist Party of India (Maoists) in the ongoing People´s War in India.
On February 11, an encounter between a fifty-strong joint team of Central Reserve Police Forces (CRPF) a Special Assault Team (SAT), District Police Forces and Jharkhand Jaguar forces of the old Indian state and suspected combatants of the PLGA took place near Lugupahari forest area near Tutijharna under Gomia block in Bokaro district in the state of Jharkhand. The reactionary forces were ambushed by an uncounted number of gunmen in the evening while approaching to the forest, in the following encounter two police forces were wounded, one of them seriously. The attackers managed to retreat without any losses before the arriving of reinforcements of the old state. 1
On February 7, anofficer of the Special Task Forces (STF) was killed by the detonation of an improvised explosive device (IED), planted by suspected Maoists next to Peddagellur village near the capital of Chhattisgarh, Raipur. The incident occurred during a combined operation of STF, CRPF and forces of Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) "When the patrolling team was on way back after the operation Constable Mohan Nag inadvertently stepped on the pressure IED connection [...]"2
Besides, the Indian bourgeois media are once again overflowing with reports of PLGA combatants allegedly surrendering or being killed. The majority of these reports are nothing more than lies to propagate alleged victories in the fight against People's War. Furthermore, the use of body count (success is determined by the number of enemies killed) repeatedly leads to fake encounters (farmers and villagers are shot and then put into PLGA uniforms).
