In the following we want to give a short overview of some of the armed actions of the past days in People´s War in India.
On March 04, suspected “Maoists torched three machines and two vehicles engaged in road construction work of The Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in Kanker district of Bastar […]”. According to “The Times of India” a group of armed combatants of the PLGA approached to the construction site and asked the workers to stop and leave the spot, before setting three vehicles, including two trucks and a mixture machine. Furthermore, there are reports of banners that have been placed at the site denouncing the old Indian state. Police forces were not notified of the action until the next day. 1
On March 1, a member of the Special Task Force (STF) of the Chhattisgarh police was injured in an encounter between suspected memebrsof the PLGA and the security forces in Sukma district. According to the authorities of the old Indian state forces of the STF were ambushed by Maoists by use of rifles and grenade launchers near the newly set up police camp at Potakpalli village under Kistaram police station limits. In the following two hours lasting battle one personnel of the reactionary security forces got injured while the PLGA combatants managed to retreat without any confirmed losses.2
On February 25, two Central Reserve Police Forces Central Reserve Police Forces officer belonging to a Commando Battalion for Resolute Action was injured due the blast of an Improvised Explosive Device, suspected triggered by combatants of the People´s Liberation Guerrilla Army in a forest in Bihar's Gaya district on Friday. “The Maoists also believed to have fired on the patrol team of the 205th Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) [...]”3
On February 24, another member of the Central Reserve Police Forces was killed near Dhanora village, Chhattisagrh, Bijapur. So far, no further information is known about the incident, but the reactionary security authorities claim to have seized Maoist leaflets at the scene. 4
On February 22, suspected forces of the People´s Libernewly set up police camp at Potakpalli village under Kistaram police station limits ation Guerrilla Army set fire to the locomotive of a freight train carrying iron ore from Kirandul in Chhattisgarh to Visakhapatnam. “The driver […] told police that armed Maoists intercepted the train [...] told the engine driver and other workers to get down, snatched their mobile phones and walkie talkie and set the engine on fire.” The action resulted in the shutdown of the train line, while the revolutionary forces were able to retreat without any casualties. 5
On February 16, a police informer was killed in Odisha's Kandhamal district. According to the bourgeois media, the person was dragged out of his house by about ten armed suspected Maoists and then killed; Maoist leaflets were also allegedly left behind. 6
