Fighters of the Santos Binamera Command of the New Peoples Army (NPA) have already attacked a 16-man unit of the 49th Infantry Battalion of the reactionary Army of the Philippines in Bagacay village, Albay province, on 3 October 2022.
A total of seven reactionary soldiers were killed. Of them, four died immediately, while three others died the next day as a result of their injuries. After the attack, the NPA fighters were able to retreat successfully without any casualties.
Since the beginning of September, the NPA has launched three offensives in Albay province, located in the south of Luzon island in the Bicol region, killing a total of nine reactionary soldiers. In addition, many more were wounded.
