The midterm-elections in the USA are over, and no big surprises took place. Some states have been won by the one, some by the other bourgeois reactionary party. We also share the evaluation of the Comrades of the Red Guards Austin: „The masses already know that bourgeois politics are a dead end; this is a great development which indicates good conditions for building the revolutionary movement.“
And the numbers speak for themselves. Although no final data is available yet, the estimates for the turnout rate are very clear. When based on the amount of people eligible of voting (235.7 million in the whole USA), not more than 48.1% are expected to vote (113.4 million). If we base the percentage on the population of the USA (327.7 million), it is only 34.6%. This image from the last presidential election is very distinct:
In Texas, the estimated turnout is 46.2% (29.3% for the whole population). So the boycott campaign the comrades developed in Texas and other States is falling on fertile ground.
We document some of the actions in this campaign:
Charlotte:
Kansas City:
Houston:
In Austin, part of the boycott campaign has been the decoration of campaign offices and in college class rooms.
