The focus of hunger is in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. According to the World Hunger Index 2022, the hunger situation is very serious in five countries: Central African Republic, Chad, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Madagascar and Yemen. In some countries, there is not enough data available to calculate an individual GHI value.
