A rally for the freedom of Ahmad Sa'adat of the Alliance against Imperialist Aggression took place in Hamburg on the 22nd of January. This rally is part of different actions that have been carried out in the framework of the international solidarity week for Ahmad Sa'adat from the 15th to the 22nd of January.
For more than 20 years, Sa'adat has been in the jails of the Zionist occupiers because he fought as a resistance fighter for the liberation of the Palestinian people at the risk of his life. He is accused of being the leader of the banned "Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine" (PFLP). The rally demanded not only the release of Sa'adat, but freedom for all revolutionary political and revolutionary prisoners of war. The powerful speeches denounced the exploitative imperialist system and also highlighted the struggles of the peoples of the world, including a contribution on the situation in Colombia. The Solidarity Network for Palestinian Prisoners (samidoun) also sent a greeting to the rally. Many people showed solidarity with the rally and took the leaflets, including a group of very young people who were moved by the shouts of "Viva Viva Palestine" to briefly join the rally. Here in the FRG, too, we must continue to develop the anti-imperialist struggle and show our solidarity with the national liberation struggles in the oppressed nations.
