Afghan resistance advances to retake new provincial capital

Maimana, the capital of Faryab province, is on the brink to be retaken by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (aka. the Taliban). The local pro-invasion  troops abandon the advanced military posts while the Taliban advance. The information comes from the very semicolonial "authorities" of the Afghan puppet state.

Naqibullah Fayiq, governor of Faryab province, said that "most areas of the province are under the control of the Taliban" and that the Taliban are on Maimana's borders.

The military defeats of the Yankee invaders and their lackeys in the province became apparent when their forces were defeated in Ghormach district in the same province. At that time, the troops of the old Afghan state disbanded and fled the district and at least 20 of its soldiers were annihilated.

Actions in other provinces

The Taliban also operate in other provinces. Maimana is one of seven provincial capitals that the Afghan Ministry of Defense identified as "threatened" by the National Resistance offensive, still in May. The other capitals are Farah City, Faizabad (in Badakhshan), Ghazni City, Tarin Kot (in Uruzgan), Kunduz City and Pul-i-Khumri (in Baghlan).

The capital of Helmand, Lashkar Gah, although not on the official list of capitals on the brink of being retaken by the Resistance, is also in fierce dispute. The Taliban have recently undertook resistance in District 4 in the capital; the combatants control this region for at least two years.

Confessed Defeat

The plans of Yankee imperialism for Afghanistan are being, one by one, defeated. The Yankee media monopoly "The Weekly Standard" has published an article entitled Losing a War, where they analyze the great current failure in Afghanistan.

"Some of them [US Military Commanders] now contend that the war is a stalemate in which the Taliban is incapable of overrunning Afghanistan’s more populated areas. They sell this as progress. But they are seeing the conflict through rose-colored glasses. The insurgents are capable of mustering enough forces for offensives throughout the country at any time. The Taliban’s men contest or control approximately 60 percent of the country."

Afghanistan continues to be the victim of a war of plunder, invasion and occupation under the command of Yankee imperialism. The aim of the war was to gain complete control over the country's wealth and politics, while is being hampered by the Taliban, who was at the head of the old Afghan state and did not serve the Yankees as they demanded.

Greater control and domination over Afghanistan is part of the Yankees' long-term goal of dominating strategic countries in the Middle East, which allows them to have access to Russian borders and, at the appropriate time, attack and destroy them as part of their inter-imperialist dispute.

The invasion and subsequent occupation began in 2001 (after the September 11 episode) with the aim of disrupting the Taliban regime and deepening its domination and influence in the country and the region, .

The Taliban and other reactionary forces, mainly of Islamic origin, began to resist armed struggle against the invader when they were removed from the head of the old state while gathering around them sectors of the nation who are willing to expel the foreign aggressor´s troops.
