On June 08, clashes between masses and security forces erupted in Kathmandu during a demonstration against the lock down which was imposed on March 24.
According to the authorities at least 500 people gathered to the street to demand an end of the lock down and better facilities for the returning migrant workers. Several thousands of Nepalese workers returned or are returning from India and Western Asia after losing their jobs due the economic crisis.
The demonstration got attacked by police forces, which used tear gas and water canons to disperse the crowd. Many people resisted the deployed infantry forces of of the police in close combat.
The problem with the lock down is the same in Nepla as in all other oppressed nations - the masses are not allowed to work - the masses do not earn money - the masses descend into increasingly poverty.
