Suspected members of the New People´s Army carried out several militant actions against the reactionary state in the recent week.
On July 09, a police station in Concepcion, Misamis Occidental got attacked, four police forces were wounded. According to a police report the suspected NPA members approached to the police station and opened the fire with automatic rifles.
On July 08, an encounter between rebels and reactionary armed forces took place in Barangay Tacayan, Tapaz, Capiz. A civilian wearing camouflage was wounded in the crossfire, further details are not known till yet.
On July 06, an infantry battalion of the reactionary armed forces were ambushed in in Barangay Canvais, Motiong, Samar – one soldier were killed another one were wounded.
On July 05, a government official and a watchman were detained by suspected members of the NPA. According to the authorities a group of armed combatants raided the houses of the two target persons and took them to the nearby mountains.
On July 03, two military vehicles were ambushed by the use of an APC (anti-personnel landmine). According to a report of the battalion commander of the Philippine Army’s 61st Infantry Battalion one inmate were wounded.
Also on July 03, a government road concreting project in upland Barangay Hinalaan were attacked. The attackers told the workers to back off before setting the machines alight. In addition, during the action there was a skirmish with soldiers who were deployed to protect the construction site - one soldier was injured.
