With deep class pride we document a joint statement by Norwegian and Finnish Maoists on the occasion of 104th anniversary of Finnish Workers’ Revolution.
Proletarians of all countries, unite!
LONG LIVE THE 104 ANNIVERSARY OF THE REVOLUTIONARY CIVIL WAR IN FINLAND!
We, Marxist-Leninist-Maoists of Finland and Norway, greet the International Communist Movement on the occasion of the anniversary of the Revolutionary Civil War in Finland initiated in January 1918. We greet the international proletariat and all oppressed peoples of the World, reaffirming our full subjugation to MarxismLeninism-Maoism, with the contributions of universal validity of Chairman Gonzalo. We reaffirm our pledge to defend the great leadership of Chairman Gonzalo and his almighty Gonzalo Thought.
Our organizations have taken up the task to do our part to reconstitute the Communist Parties as Militarized Maoist Parties, and simultaneously initiate the People’s War as part of and in service of the World Proletarian Revolution. On this occasion we reaffirm our selves in the struggle of our class in these countries, and especially in the experiences of revolutionary warfare, where our class and our peoples applied revolutionary violence, heroically shedding blood especially in the Revolutionary Civil War in Finland 1918, in the defense of the Spanish Republic 1933-1936 and during the great anti-fascist liberation war 1939-1945.
January 2022 we celebrate the 104 anniversary of the the Revolutionary Civil War of 1918, and also the 100 years since the so called “Pork mutiny” in support of red power in the Soviet Union, hoisting the red banner again in the midst of armed struggle in Finland. During 1918, in struggles continuing from 27 of January till 15 of May, red power was established in half of Finland, with 1 million inhabitants. The enemy was the Finnish Whites supported mainly by the German Empire and also by Swedish imperialism. The Finnish Socialist Workers’ Republic was constituted by the Finnish People’s Delegation, supported by the guns of the Red Guards. These Red Guards consisted of close to 100.000 combatants during the war, under Communist leadership.
Finland was freed from the Russian Empire as a result of the Great Socialist October Revolution in Russia. The Finnish Whites however was backed by German and Swedish imperialism, which both sought to again dominate Finland after the liberation from the Russian Empire. The Finnish communists have today summed up that one of the main shortcomings of Red Finland was failing to understand the principle that “defence is the death of an armed uprising”, both politically and militarily, being expressed both in political vacillation in November 1917 and in the pursuit of conventional front line warfare during the war in 1918. The war was heroically fought with the highest price paid in blood that has been seen in the Nordic countries for more than a 100 years. 40.000 people was killed. More than 12.500 of these was red prisoners perishing from hunger and disease in the concentration camps of the Finnish Whites. However we celebrate the sacrifice to hoist our red banner to the highest peak, by the constitution of the Finnish Socialist Workers’ Republic, understanding that everything good comes with a price.
The pending task of our class, an international class with its detachments in all countries, is to reconstitute the Communist Party as a Maoist and Militarized Party, to initiate the Socialist Revolution in the form of Peoples War, universally applicable in each and every country without exception. In this struggle we again hoist the flags of the Communist Party of Finland and the Communist Party of Norway. Our martyrs are not the martyrs of a single party, but that of the international proletariat. Our experiences belong not to us alone, but to the whole class. It is our duty to learn from the experiences by lifting them, and to apply them.
The Communist Party of Peru stated that there are four fundamental questions of the People’s War: The Ideology, that is Marxism-Leninism-Maoism, principally Maoism, the necessity of the Party leading the war, the road of the Peoples’ War, and the New Power, being the essence of this war. The historical lessons must be retaken and reassessed in this perspective, to creatively apply Maoism, answering these four fundamental questions in the concrete context of the revolution in each country.
Unite under Maoism!
Eternal Honor and Glory to Chairman Gonzalo!
Hoist, defend and apply the experience of the Revolutionary Civil War of Finland!
