A formal celebration of Lenin is simple. A propagandistic celebration of Lenin is simple. But Lenin was anything but simple.

Lenin was the struggle for the party. Lenin was the struggle for the leadership of the proletariat in the democratic revolution. Lenin was the struggle of Soviet power for proletarian revolution. Lenin was the struggle for the dictatorship of the proletariat. Lenin was the struggle for the progress of the revolution until communism. This is not easy.

Today, when the revisionists and opportunists celebrate a Lenin who is a mastermind but does not see what Lenin was - the man of the party, the man of the dictatorship of the proletariat, the man of communism - they celebrate a dead man, a fetish.

Celebrating Lenin in the FRG means only one thing: to close the ranks around the proletarian vanguard in formation. Everything else is, as our Rose told us, Quark.

We say Lenin,
      but mean
         The Party.
We say
      The Party,
         but mean Lenin.
