Police forces suppressed a demonstration and killed at least three people to enforce the curfew, which were adopted under the pretext of the Corona-Pandemic.
On March 15, thousands of people gathered to the streets of Niamey, the capital of Niger, to protest against the huge corruption and the embezzlement of funds. The security forces blocked all street around the parliament at fired tear gas grenades into the crowd to disperse the masses. According to eyewitnesses one of the grenades hit the marketplace of a fabric merchants on the local bazaar, triggering a fire. According to different media three to five people were murdered on these day by the security forces. In the following days at least five organizers of the protests were arrested by the police.
