Suspect members of al-Shabaab destroyed a communication mast and attacked a police camp Kenya’s northeast Wajir County on Saturday.
The two attacks, which were carried out at the same time, took place at about 2 a.m. In Khorof Kharar the militants blew up a communication mast. In the other attack in the some area fighters rushed a police camp. The security forces were so overwhelmed by the ataack, that they were forced to retreat into the near forest. There are no further information about losses or confiscations of weapons.
The next day, the Kenyan armed forces launched air strikes and fired on several targets on the border with Somalia.
