While the struggles at Istanbul's Boğaziçi University continue with new violent physical clashes with the cops and new arrests every day, solidarity actions are taking place all over Turkey.
The police attacked the actions in several places where the defence of democratic rights was proclaimed against the fascist tendency of the Turkish state. In Ankara, 30 people were arrested and tortured while their lawyers had to wait in front of the cops' door. Attempts were made to make the demonstrators give statements by telling them that the lawyers had not turned up.
In Dersim, the police attack could not disperse the mass of demonstrators and prevent them from issuing a press release. From struggling organisations over cultural associations to the beekeepers' association, the denunciation of the Turkish state's actions at Boğaziçi University was carried there. All in all, the current struggles evoke a considerable strengthening of unity within the people.
