On Sunday, a manifestation gathered in support of the ongoing struggle in the USA and against racism in all countries. At the manifestation, a number of people showed up, standing with 2 meters between one another. When the manifestation was dissolved, the real protests of the day began.
A spontaneous march was initiated and a sea of people streamed through central Gothenburg. Friends and comrades marched under the slogan: "Police brutality is the safeguard of the rotten society, Justice is won through struggle". At the start, the militancy was not more than a few radical speakers. But when the demonstration began its second turn, confrontations with the security forces began. This began a struggle carrying on until 9 in the evening.
In the bourgeois media, one speaks of a few violent youths. It was everything other than this. The police did not have it easy and their cars were multiple times scared away by struggling gatherings. Rocks, blows and kicks resulted in this.
In Brunnsparken, which was held by protestors in several hours, the police attempted to repress the masses. They were outnumbered all day and couldn't get people away before sending the horses in, and even then, they were met with resistance.
From this perspective, June 7th was a victory and a good example for the masses in Gothenburg. But of course the lack of organization, the lack of leadership was a major weakness. If there was a coordination between protesters, one could have taken the cops gathering piece by piece. With battle flags and closed tanks, the police would not have been able to make the rushes they performed, with which they tried to shatter the demonstration.
Communists have the task of giving this leadership. Unfortunately, the Communists could not form a leadership this time. It just shows us that there is a lot of work left to do, but a communist is not afraid of big tasks.
We see here that the masses want to fight and they shit on all the talk about compromises. There were no hugs handed out to the cop, but plenty of stones.
The bourgeois media has done a good job of hiding what happened last Sunday. The mass militancy that was displayed says everything they want to make us believe. Trust in the bourgeois state is not as strong as they would like.
The uprising in the streets was directed at the cop. People acted against the right target, one of the bourgeois state's organs of violence. Revisionists who complain of this "spontaneity" and accuse of rebellion for "unconsciousness" obviously do not want to raise the consciousness of the masses themselves. Instead, they want to lower the mass consciousness to compromise with the bourgeois state in order to win temporary demands that will not advance the masses' already existing anger and struggle into a struggle for socialism and against the bourgeois state. We're not here to put out the fire. What happened this day was a great experience for anyone who wants to overthrow the bourgeois state and build socialism.
So what's the way forward? In order for us to get anywhere in the fight, to deal with the recurring crises, with the social injustices, with exhaustion and oppression, we must have a Communist Party. We must have a Party that is closely tied to the masses and has the trust of the masses. We must have a Party that gives the rebellious leadership and turns them into a conscious struggle for the socialist revolution, but who also does not stop at the uprising but works systematically to conquer power.
It's right to rebel! The masses make history!
