On Monday August 22nd in Trondheim Kampkomiteen partook in a demonstration against the fascist organisation SIAN. Before the demonstration activists from Kampkomiteen had put up posters in central and eastern Trondheim, to mobilise for the demonstration. Posters were also hung up in the neighbouring municipalities of Malvik and Stjørdal.
In spite of the great number of police officers present and other organisations deciding to make another event at a different place at the same time, hundreds of people partook in the counter demonstration against SIAN to show their hatred towards chauvinism against muslims and racism.
The police confiscated speakers and megaphones of the counter demonstration and also took people to the side in order to photograph and ID-check them. Some people also got searched by the police. The police especially targeted people with heritage from oppressed countries, people looking non-white. A police Drone was also flown over the demonstration.
In spite of all this it was a powerful counter demonstration, the fascists and the police were met with firm resistance. People from the demonstration chanted slogans like ”No fascists in out streets!”, ”The struggle continues – fascism shall be crushed!”, ”SIAN, go home!”, ”All of Trondheim hates SIAN!”, ”Anti-fascism is self defense!” and ”Shut up SIAN!”. Loud flutes were played in order shut up the reactionary chants, speeches and propaganda of SIAN.
In Kristiansand on Monday August 22nd a demonstration in support of the strike of the workers from ”Industri Energi”. Activists from Kampkomiteen participated together with 200 others. The demonstration started with speeches at the gate to Glencore and went on to Elkem.
There was no agreement reached bewteen Nork Industri and Indutri Energi and the workers have been on a strike since August 15th. The workers demand the right to struggle for better wages at work places locally, as this is where most of their wages are negotiated, as well as for their wages to rise with the amount of profit the company makes.
Sweden
Comrades from Kommunistiska Föreningen have published an article advoctating a boycott of the imbound bourgeois national elections of Sweden.
The article condemns the bourgeois elections, and exposes the warmongering Swedish government and ends with the slogan: ”Chose to struggle – don’t vote for any party!”.
