We publish an unofficial english translation of the important statement that was posted in FLDP (Front for the Defense of the People´s Struggles - free translation) website.
“In times of difficulty we must not lose sight of our achievements, must see the bright future and must pluck up our courage.”
C. Mao
In June 2013, the ardent masses mobilized and protested on the streets of Rio de Janeiro and other cities of Brazil against the waste of economic resources by Dilma Rousseff regime and the realization of the Football World Cup in the aforementioned country.
The answer to this affront to the oppressed and exploited people of Brazil was multitudinous, forceful, but, above all, full of correctness.
Today, a judge from Rio de Janeiro, against the most elementary juridical procedures and norms of the state he means to defend, has sentenced the 23 popular activists who had protagonist roles in the mentioned demonstrations and that, according to the resolution of the judge, they face sentences that range from 5 to 13 years of imprisonment.
The permanent repression campaigns of the old bourgeois-landlord state of Brazil increasingly assume punitive, penitentiary and, in many cases, bloody attributes. It is evident: bureaucratic capitalism crumbles in Brazil, the dictatorship of big bourgeois and big landlords is not able to keep ruling like until now, and they are obliged to deepen the reactionary character of the state to be able to sustain it.
It is on this context that this new trample against the popular rights is presented. However, it is necessary to observe carefully, it is necessary to understand this in the correct form, we do not see isolated facts, no, it is a whole strategic plan that aims to undermine the growing popular organization and struggle. The murder of poor peasants that struggle for land in Rondonia; the selective assassination of peasant and people’s leaders throughout Brazil, the pursuit, imprisonment, torture of student, popular, worker leaders, shows that it is a whole systematic, long-termed plan that aims to attack the organizational nerve of the class and the people that is not willing to keep living as it did until now.
Facing these happenings, the proletariat, poor peasants and the people of Ecuador expresses solidarity to the true sons and daughters of the people that have been struggling for the people´s rights and demands; facing the world, to denounce the waste of enormous economical resources in an act that favors the big businessmen, the transnational companies, while the people lack the most elementary services that allows them to survive.
In every form, we are certain that everything the reaction does in the attempt to neutralize the conscious element of the people will not succeed to frighten the decision of those in wholeheartedly serving the people. “The popular masses possess an unlimited creative power” and beyond what they can or not materialize the condemnation of these 23 valiant representatives of the people, the masses will know how to find the appropriate path and form to continue a struggle that will only find haven in the golden communism.
