On july 6th a peasant‘s house and part of the plantations were burned down by armed and hooded paramilitary. Two days later, the landowner responsible came back accompanied by paramilitary and there was a fight between police and the peasants.
On the orders of the landowner, the police tried to invade the encampment by firing shots. Carlos Augusto Gomez, known as „Mineiro“ was killed and two of his friends were injured.
But the shots were responded to by the peasants. They wounded two of the invaders.
Few days later the landowner Matheus Canellas and the wounded policemen were arrested. When the landowner was arrested he was trying to get rid of evidence. They found several weapons, ammunition, a hood, a vest. Also knives, documents and cellphones were confiscated.
