Also on the 3rd of July, millions of Brazilians took to the streets to protest against the genocidal military government of Bolsonaro and his generals. With struggles in more than 312 Brazilian cities, solidarity actions for the struggle of the Brazilian people were also held in 16 other countries.
The demonstrators made the following demands: an end to Bolsonaro's government and his generals, mass vaccinations and neccesary emergency aid. To date, the government is responsible for more than 523,000 deaths from the coronavirus and has recently made a name for itself through accusations of corruption in the purchase of vaccines. The struggles of the revolutionary peasant movement and the indigenous population were also an important reason for the protests.
A particularly large number of students, teachers, workers, unemployed and indigenous people were among the demonstrators, openly showing their anger at the government, with the number of demonstrators increasing in many cities since the large protests of the th of19 June.
People made their demands clear on the numerous banners and signs. The government's fight against the revolutionary peasant movement, which most recently cost four young people their freedom, was also condemned by the masses.
During the protests, streets were occupied and a bank and a car dealership were set on fire. The military police deployed against the protests responded with batons and pepper spray, which only inflamed the people's anger and eventually led to the military police having to withdraw.
