Posters and paintings against the imperialist war
On 28 March, youth and students of the revolutionary organisations MESP (Movimiento de Estudiantes al Servicio del Pueblo) and LJR (Liga Juvenil Revolucionaria) organised a poster day at the University of Antioquia (Medellín) denouncing imperialism and expressing their solidarity with the struggle of the Ukrainian people. On several walls of the university they stuck posters explaining the current situation and promoting an internationalist, anti-imperialist, popular and revolutionary position on this question.
The comrades of the MESP gave a statement to the revolutionary news platform El Comunero - Prensa Popular, of which we will quote the beginning:
"We denounce both Russian imperialism and US imperialism and its NATO allies, both responsible for the war. It is clear that Russia has unleashed an imperialist war of aggression to dispute and dominate Ukraine as an oppressed nation. But we also stress that US imperialism and its military alliance are not the "good guys" in this story. The posters denounce that the US and the EU are fighting for dominance in Ukraine by interfering in the internal politics of the country to overthrow pro-Russian governments and install pro-US governments with which they are pushing anti-Russian policies that are part of plans to encircle Russia militarily, politically and economically. In this way, US imperialism has used Ukraine as a spearhead in its inter-imperialist dispute and cornered Russia. Therefore, Russia, because of its imperialist position and interests, was forced to open a war of aggression in Ukraine, by which US imperialism succeeds in isolating and wearing it down even more." Banner for the People's War in India
A large banner in solidarity with the People's War in India and political prisoners in India was placed on a main street in the city of Medellin. The following statement was published on El Comunero - Prensa Popular.
"From Colombia, in the spirit of proletarian internationalism, we join the call of the Communist Party of India (Maoist), we salute the heroic people's war of India as the only way to liberate the masses, their more than 50 years of struggle is an example for the international proletariat and the peoples of the world.
We express our solidarity with the masses worldwide who are fighting against the exploiters and imperialism; we demand the release of Professor G.N. Saibaba and the other political prisoners in India.
We tell the reactionaries that their prisons and bullets do not stop the thousands of poor masses who are crying out for a world without oppression; on the contrary, they are a spark for the revolution that will sweep imperialism off the face of the earth."
