Consumer price inflation continues to be an issue on the minds of everyone in Turkey and a serious burden on the shoulders of the people; last December, inflation was 36 percent. However, the Erdogan government's financial policy on this issue (long-term low key interest rate) is not only the procedure to contain or delay the crisis, but even more a deliberate strategy of the ruling clique in the country to enrich themselves even more.

Norway

Tjen Folket Media reports that actions were made by Kampkomiteen in Bergen, against rising electricity costs. Fliers were distributed, and the manifestation ended in front of the offices of major energy company, where also a banner condemned the Norwegian Imperialist activity in Chile.

Below we publish a call by the Communist Party of India (Maoist) for participation in the nationwide protests by farmers and peasants on January 31 and the nationwide strike on February 23 and 24.

Former SPD secretary general and SPD executive board member Yasmin Fahimi has been elected DGB chairwoman by the DGB executive board. That an SPD member becomes chair of the DGB (Deutscher Gewerkschaftsbund /german federation of trade unions) is nothing new, but is tradition in the leadership of the unions. The party card is obligatory for a union boss. The final decision, which can be considered a formality, will follow in May at the DGB national congress. The party book enables a high function in the union and a high function in the union enables greater influence in politics. In Fahimi's case, one can see very well how this worked. For example, she managed to become secretary general for a short time and later became state secretary in the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs thanks to her party colleague Andrea Nahles.

Here is a brief report on election boycott actions in Finland and the USA recently.

The comrades of the revolutionary website "Red Flag" from Finland published a report on actions in the course of boycotting regional elections in Finland. Among other things, of leaflet distributions and painted-over election posters in the city of Tampere. Regional elections were then held on 23 January 2022. Overall, only 50 per cent of voters went to the polls. This confirms once again the correctness of the election boycott.
