Combatants of the TKP/ML carried out actions in Istanbul-Esenyurt in memory of the comrades Nubar, Rosa, Özgür, Asmin who have fallen in the People's War last autumn. Banners saying "Nubar, Rosa, Özgür, Asmin live in our struggle, TIKKO fights" were put up and flyers with the appeal "TIKKO calls you to war" were distributed.
Turkish metal workers have started multi-day actions in many factories for the struggle for daily demands. At a time when the taxes for a factory worker in Turkey are sometimes higher than for a capitalist, calls were made to the working class and the people to join the struggle and the following immediate demands were raised:
- All taxes and deductions for minimum wage earners should be reset and the minimum wage should be paid net. Thus, all wages are to be increased by about 750 lira.
- The rate for the first tax tranche after the minimum wage is to be reduced to 10 per cent. The amount of tax will be increased according to national income.
- The lowest pension is to be raised to the minimum wage.
- Electricity, water, gas and internet bills should be exempted from taxes and deductions.
- Reset VAT on all foodstuffs.
Partizan in Switzerland today announced the death of comrade Huseyin Peken (Pala) after a long period of illness - a class-conscious, humble, low-key, caring and hardworking revolutionary worker. A memorial ceremony will be held tomorrow, 04th November 2021 at 10am at the Alevi Cultural Centre in Winterthur.
