On 25 February, three policemen were killed in a jungle in Sukman district, Chhattisgarh state by members of the Communist Party of India (Maoist)-led People's Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA). The policemen, who belonged to the paramilitary formation of the District Reseve Guard, had been ambushed early in the morning when they were trying to secure a construction site. Scores of anti-guerrilla forces were deployed to the district to try and fight the PLGA comrades.
Further, a member of the Army and a paramilitary of the Chhattisgarh State forces were killed in two separate operations by the PLGA. An Army Service Corps paramilitary was shot dead at his native village Bade Tava in Kanker. On 26 February, a member of the Chhattisgarh reactionary forces was killed in a military operation. Earlier, the PLGA had planted mines in the area which were triggered by the reactionary forces during their operation, resulting in the death of one of their men.
