Colombia: The FRG is walking over corpses for its energy security

In May 2022 we reported on how German imperialism, in the wake of Russian imperialism's war of aggression against Ukraine, has stepped up its efforts to ensure energy security for its economy and social peace in the country by, among other things, importing more coal from Colombia. In this way, the energy demand of German imperialism, which it wants to meet through Colombian coal, is forcing the oppression and plundering of poor peasants and indigenous people in Colombia.

In the FRG there is a problem with a lack of manpower, which is also permanently emphasized by bourgeois politicians. One of many areas where this problem is particularly drastic is, in addition to the health sector and schools, the day care centers. In Germany the new kindergarten year starts on 01 August, which means that many new children will enter the day care centers. In North Rhine-Westphalia alone, 760,619 new children will be cared for in daycare centers or by child minders. However, many parents and guardians are still desperately looking for daycare places. According to a study by the Bertelsmann Foundation, there is a shortage of 100,000 daycare places in North Rhine-Westphalia alone.

In Villingen Schwenningen on the first of July there were major clashes between young people and security forces during a city festival. The peculiarity here is that both the city and the police reported about it to the public for the first time last week, more than three weeks after the events.

There is another wildcat strike at the Gräfenhausen freeway service station. As we have already reported in three different articles, around 60 truck drivers went on strike in mid-March at the Gräfenhausen freeway service station in southern Hessen to demand payment of their unpaid wages.
