On the day of the verdict against the anti-fascist Lina, several hundred people gathered spontaneously and unannounced in the "Viertel" area of Bremen¹. The police were prepared for this action, but were not able to stop it completely. While the police claim that "the demonstrators" attacked the police "abruptly", the large-scale deployment paints a different picture by Bremen standards. With the purpose of preventing any combative action, several dozen demonstrators were tied up immediately after the start of the spontaneous assembly and held for hours.

Norway

According to various media reports, the economic situation in Germany has reached a critical phase. As part of the general crisis of imperialism, an economic crisis has been developing in the FRG for some time, which the rulers have been trying to ward off in various ways, mainly by trying to pass on the costs of the crisis to the broad masses of the people, but not going too far. The intention was to maintain relative calm among the population, not to create major unrest, as in France, for example. But it seems that the measures against the crisis are now exacerbating it.

Finland

On Thursday 18.05 a banner with the slogan “İbrahim Kaypakkaya present in the struggle! Unite under Maoism!” was hung from a bridge in Tampere. On that day, 50 years passed since the founder of the TKP/ML, Comrade Ibrahim Kaypakkaya, gave his life for the Party and the revolution after being tortured and murdered by the reaction. Countless people passing by saw the banner and were impressed by it.

Last Sunday, the event for the presentation of the Red League and the International Communist League in Nuremberg took place in the cultural space Villa Leon. With special participation of comrades from Partizan, the perspective of joint work between Turkish revolutionaries in Germany and the Red League was discussed after the event and the important step taken with the creation of a nationwide activist organization was emphasized by the participants.

No strike, but negotiations, for now. Starting tomorrow, the next round of negotiations between the Railway and Transport Union (EVG) and Deutsche Bahn on higher wages for the approximately 180,000 railroad workers will take place. A small obulus for only about 2,000 railroad workers by means of a settlement led to the cancellation of the 50-hour warning strike planned for last week by the EVG.

In Hamburg, different internationalist and anti-imperialist organisations, united as the Palestine Alliance Hamburg, held a demonstration on 20 May on the occasion of Nakba Day. Around 100 people gathered at the Holstenstraße S-Bahn station and carried the struggle of the Palestinian people for national liberation 75 years after the Nakba onto the streets of Hamburg.

On May 18, at Frankfurt's Opernplatz, 80 to 100 people responded to Partizan's call for a rally to mark the 50th anniversary of the death of communist leader Ibrahim Kaypakkaya.
