On occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Great Socialist October Revolution a group of student activists took the walls of Columbia’s oldest state-run University and sprayed several slogans. In their paintings they hold high the leaders, achievements and lessons to be drawn from the events in October 1917 and further celebrate the 1st country to become socialist.

On Saturday evening October 28th, the 100th anniversary of the October Revolution was celebrated in Oslo, in the proletarian neighbourhood Grønland.
On the central square a speech was held, while masked activists wore a banner with the slogan “From October 1917 till Today - All for the Proletarian Revolution!”. The goal of this manifestation was was to mark the Russian revolution in a militant manner, and emphasize the need for new revolutions today.

On occasion of the Austrian National Day last Thursday a broad alliance of progressive and revolutionary groups organized a vivid manifestation in Vienna against the increasing militarisation of the European Union. Denouncing the cravings of Austrian imperialism to increase its military reach and deepen its exploitation of the Balkan countries, many people were reached and mobilized through the event.

A bandh called by the CPI (Maoist) affected the south Odisha districts of Rayagada, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Ganjam and Gajapation last Saturday. For many hours, shops and workplaces remained to be closed or empty and the transit system seized to function as workers and small traders followed the Party’s call support the activities.

In the morning of May 24, The Genocidal Brazilian State – through its repression apparatus DECA (Agrarian Conflict Police Station) in an operation with 30 civil and military police officers – murdered 10 peasants and injured other 14. The police alleged there was a shooting, but most of the shots were made on the nape and back of the peasants – evidences of execution.

Following the call to participate in a counter-demonstration some hundred people gathered in the finish town of Tampere last Saturday to oppose a rally partitioning for stricter immigration laws organized by the fascist Nordic Resistance Movement (NRM). Outnumbering the fascists many times over and despite the deployment of heavily armed riot police the protesters were able to encircle the demonstration, delay their progress and, more then once, directly engage them.
