We publish this inofficial translation of the statement of the Current of the People Sol Rojo Oaxaca (Mexico):

CORRIENTE DEL PUEBLO SOL ROJO joins the international campaign of solidarity with the 23 comrades sentenced in Brazil, whose participation was highlighted with combativeness and class spirit during the days of protest against the 2014 FIFA World Cup, led by the binomial Dilma-Monetary Fund International.

In the following we document a translation of the statement released a view day ago by Construction Committee of the Maoist Communist Party of Galicia condemning the sentence imposed upon the 23 young revolutionaries in Brazil.

In the face of the sentence, that was released the past 17th of June, of nine years in jail for 23 activists who participated in the mobilization against the FIFA World Cup in 2013 and his nefarious and corrupt management, we want to publicly take position and state:

On Tuesday, July 3, Aboubakar, a young man from the popular neighborhood of Breil in Nantes was shot dead by a police officer. Because he was wanted, the cop thought he had the right to shoot him. Since then, their hierarchy has mounted a defense accusing the young man of putting the life of a cop in danger, which would justify the use of a weapon. Avalanches of testimonies from residents and residents of the Breil and even photos and videos evidences come to expose the lies of the police.

That same evening, despite the despicable attitude of the police, who did not even respect the dignity of the family, the youths went out into the street and attacked the police. Deployments of cops and gendarmes never seen were urgently sent for clashes that lasted all night. Today, these anti-riot repression devices have not ceased, the state reacts on the contrary by intensifying them.

Here we share pictures which were sent to us from various cities in the FRG. The slogan is "Igor Mendes, son of the Brazilian people, fighter of the international proletariat, is not alone!", as in the call of the Editors of Dem Volke Dienen.

We join the campaign against the condemnation of the 23 activists convicted in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) involved in the protests against the squandering of the FIFA Cup

During the days before and during the World Cup in Brazil, the people and especially the poor youth demonstrated against the waste of resources and the show that the Dilma/FMI government wanted to show the world.

These protests were massive, combative and just.

The bourgeois press of India lately has missed no possibility of ridiculing itself in regard to the People's War. They claim that the "sightings" of the Maoists are diminishing and thus indicate that the “Left-Wing-Extremism”, as they call the glorious People’s War, is on its last foot. Meanwhile posters of the CPI (Maoist) appear on school walls and demand that the state persecution of the Dalits and other tribals to be stopped immediately. Meanwhile, on the 20th of July a successful Bandh (armed strike) was carried out, which was widely supported by the masses and thus paralyzed a whole district. And meanwhile, the special forces of the old state are regularly crushed by the Maoists. At the same time, they claim that they are arresting and killing Maoists in droves, even during the monsoon season, a time of the year in which Maoists would often “lie low, train new recruits and strategize”. They brag with their treacherous and coward massacres, that they disguise as "encounters" and conceal that Maoists are doing everything but rest, continuing and developing their struggles.
